Paper Pumpkin November 2015: Mistletoe and Holly

Happy Monday Morning!

Today I thought I would show you the adorable project made with this month's paper pumpkin.  This month's project were adorable Christmas cards with holly and mistletoe (hence the name).  They are very simple yet elegant cards.  I couldn't wait to dig into these.

These are some of the cutest cards I've made with Paper Pumpkin, and they were not difficult to make at all.  I love the decorative "berries" used.  I also think my stamping has improved, which helps with the quality of cards.  These are also some of the best bows I've ever done.

I now have a slew of Christmas cards to send out in December.  I am also working on my December daily (pictures to come soon), and I am SO excited to complete that project.  Don't forget to check back often, and especially for my 12 days of December!!  Lots of fun projects in store!!

Paper Pumpkin August 2015: Chalk it Up to Love

Good Morning!

Welcome back for another Paper Pumpkin project.  I'm trying to catch up on past projects as I've fallen behind, and easy to make and taking up space in my craft room.  So, you may see a lot of them.  I apparently have a few left to do ;-)

It has been very relaxing to get back into my craft room, and doing the Paper Pumpkin kits gives me inspiration to do my own crafting.  I am so excited to be back in the game and blogging again.  I'm off of work today for Veteran's Day, and I plan on being in my craft room all day.  I've even discovered graph paper in the back of my planner so I can sketch out cards whenever I need to.

Onto today's project...

I liked this project because it used the white ink on the black paper to give it a chalk board look.  I thought it would be really cool, but, to be honest, I had a hard time with it.  I think it was the stampin spot I was using.  It came out, but the sentiment is really light and difficult to see in the photo.  I used different sentiments for the different backgrounds, just to mix it up a little.  These projects were simple but very cute.  I love them!

This box it the ABSOLUTE CUTEST!!  It is such an adorable box, and it is perfect for little gifts.  The flower is definitely what makes it.  It was super adorable, and I love it.  This stamp come out perfectly.  I will be using these for gifts in the very near future.  

Thank you for coming to check out my blog, and for everyone's support.  I was reviewing my blog earlier in the week and cleaning it up a little bit.  I noticed just how many "I'm back" posts I had.  This time, I just jumped in.  I'm doing it because I love it, and it is good for me.  I honestly feel better when I am getting those creative juices flowing.  I think it's because I'm so analytical at work.  Really, I am pretty creative in treatments, but it's not the same.

Paper Pumpkin October 2015

Good Morning!

I'm trying to get back on the crafting wagon and keeping up better with my blog.  I've been really into stamping lately and, since my mom is a demonstrator, I have access to a lot of things to play with.  For a while, they have just been sitting in my craft room.  We rearranged some things to make room for our Scentsy business and my craft supplies became disorganized, life got busy with my new job, and I just put crafting on hold for a while.

To stay kind of in the game, I subscribed to Paper Pumpkin, which is a subscription crafting service that sends you a project in the mail every month.  So, every month I get a cute project that is all inclusive and involves stamping and putting it together.  For the month of October, they sent a pink box (usually it's red) and donated a portion of the proceeds to Breast Cancer Awareness.

This month (well, last month) was a really cute set of cards.  The cards came pre-printed with all of the color, and I stamped all of the flowery details and the sentiments, placed on all of the embellishments, and had 9 adorable cards all ready to send out!

Here's a close up of all of the cards.  You can mix and match.  For these projects, I usually follow the directions, but the creative freedom is all yours.

Sweet as Pie

Greetings Crafters!!

I can't believe how crafty I'm being.  I'm so glad I have my crafting groove back.  I only wish I could apply this to other areas of my life.  I'm trying to eat healthy, exercise, and lose weight... that's not going as consistently as I would like, but I keep trying.  That counts for something I guess, right. 

Speaking of pie... I'm not a big pie eater, but I think these pie pieces are super adorable!!  This is the October project from Paper Pumpkin.  My mom sent me the kit (and a refill - thanks mom!) because my subscription won't start until next month.  I'm thinking about doing a video to show you the kit and how to assemble it. 

Anyway, October's kit is pie! 

These adorable pie pieces hold candy.  You assemble the cardboard pie pieces.  Then, you stamp the sentiments onto the stickers.  The stickers fold over the ends of the pie pieces in order to seal the box shut.  Next comes the fun part, you get to make the pom pomp.  Adhere everything down, and voilà!!! 

Super adorable pie pieces to share with friends, family, co-workers.  They would make perfect place cards for Thanksgiving meals. 

Maybe I'm crafting more because I like the kits.  They are simple (yet complex enough to hold interest), and they come with everything I need.  No prep work needed!!  There is something about regular crafting as well though, and I hope to do more of that soon.

Halloween Treat Bags

Can you believe I'm posting??

I'm so excited to do my first crafty post of the year.  Believe it or not, I have been (somewhat) crafting, I just haven't posted things to my site.  Hopefully that is going to change.  What actually encouraged me to post was My Pink Stamper.  She is having a challenge where you give your project to someone who needs it.  If you want to join in, go to her website and watch the video, then tag your project to social media with the hastag #mypinkstamperlauraschallenge.  So, here is how my project came to be...

My mom came and visited a couple of weeks ago, and she brought her Paper Pumpkin kit.  I had never heard of paper pumpkin before; however, it was so much fun.  Paper pumpkin is a crafting kit. Each month, you get a new project that includes everything you need to make the project.  It makes crafting easy.  Of course, I looked into the service, loved every project I saw, and signed up.

As a bit of an update, I have been working and sleeping (pretty much); although, I do manage to have a life in there somewhere.  My supervisor, who is my mentor and with whom I am pretty close, has decided to retire.  And, I have been selected to step up into her role.  While I am excited for a new challenge, I am really going to miss her.  While I could go on and on about this, I won't (in this post anyway).  While this is going on, we have had two other staff members decide to resign.  This has been pretty hard on the staff, and we are not a big staff. 

In order to bring a little something positive, I decided to give them Halloween treats!!  These adorable treat bags are PERFECT for the staff!!

These adorable burlap bags hold about six pieces of candy.  EVERYTHING you see came in the Paper Pumpkin pack my mom brought.  You just need a stamping block.  Cute, easy projects get sent right to your door every month.  Who could be upset about that?
